Reflections on Chai on Flickr.
茶罷臨流靜(다파임유정) : 차 마시고 조용히 흐르는 냇가에서 悠然忘還期(유연망환기) : 느긋한 생각에 돌아갈 걸 잊었다네
艸衣意恂(초의의순;1786-1866)
I drank a cup of tea and watched the flowing and stillness. Quietly and naturally I seemed to forget the return of time.
Quote from the Korean Monk Ch’o-ŭi’s,
“Dong Cha Song" (1837) Hymns to Korean Tea

Via Flickr: “There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born there, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size, its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter — the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something ….Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness, natives give it solidity and continuity, but the settlers give it passion.”E.B. White, Here is New York, 1948.
